WHO
WE ARE
My wife, Betty, and I served as Ministers of Music and Youth for over 40 years in full-time ministry, we served on a part-time basis at smaller churches for the next 10-15 years. During this time, we were employed in our local public school system. Upon seeing the condition of the family and home we were permitted to develop a Parenting with Love and Limitations program for at risk students (most were not BAD kids; they were just making BAD choices). Part of this program involved taking students to visit one of our local state prisons and allowing the prisoners to talk with the students.
MY GOAL IN LIFE HAS BEEN-HELPING PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES
Upon retiring from the public school system, I was allowed to become a volunteer Chaplain at the local county jail. During these past 12 years I began writing short stories about life’s HURTS, HANGUPS AND HABITS and developing my life’s message in these areas in order to re-invest it in someone else. Each week I would share one of these stories and encourage the prisoners to become my friend on Facebook when they got out, so I now have several thousand Facebook friends that were former prisoners.
We will also be publishing several other books that will incorporate our early life experiences. I was privileged to grow up in a small community in Central Alabama called North Elmore. Our family owned and operated the Ole Dozier Store (a general merchandise store). Many of these stories tell of The GOOD OLE DAYS (such as hog-killin days, the ole swimming hole, the ole grist mill, growing up in an ole country church called Mt. Hebron West Batist Church) and many more real-life experiences. By sharing these experiences, I am realizing how GOD has worked through these times to develop character in me that HE can best use to GLORIFY HIS NAME. The best way that I know to express all this past of my life would be to say TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE.
And of course, our family prayer life, my personal prayer life, and our corporate prayer ministry (intercessory prayer warriors), would not have been as exciting as it is without sharing many of our lifetime experiences through the POWER OF PRAYER.
My wife and I have been married for over 62 years and we dated 3 years before that. We have 4 beautiful daughters and 4 (great) sons-in-law. They have given us 13 grandchildren and as of this printing we have been blessed with 9 great grandchildren and another one on the way… To be continued.
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
